17 October 2017 - the truth is out there

I am not ashamed of the Gospel.
It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes:
for Jew first, and then Greek.

The gospel is power to transform us inside and out. For example, the gospel turns the giving of alms from a potential act of vanity into a genuine act of love.

Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside?
But as to what is within, give alms,
and behold, everything will be clean for you.

God is knowable. His truth makes sense.

For what can be known about God is evident to them,
because God made it evident to them.
Ever since the creation of the world,
his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity
have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made.

Although the truth is out there we convince ourselves of falsehoods in order to justify the plunder and evil inside the cup and dish of our hearts.

The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees!
Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish,
inside you are filled with plunder and evil.

The gospel comes to us from outside of ourselves and us to ourselves, just as Jesus does to the Pharisees. It does not let us simply cover over problems with the appearance of piety. It contains the full truth about God and his righteousness. If we can accept the power of the gospel we no longer live balancing faith with other priorities. We live from faith to faith.

For in it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith;
as it is written, "The one who is righteous by faith will live."

Then we can truly join with the heavens and the firmament to proclaim the glory of God.
